Hold on

April 30, 2019

Would you do anything to take the pain from those you love?

It kills me to know that I cannot keep the evils I have seen from other hearts, but, since I cannot save you from the pain, I will sit with you through it. I will ache with you and bleed with you, and I will be there to help you rise again. I will be there to tell you that the only way it gets easier is by pushing forward, looking into the wounds, and coming to terms with the things that have caused you pain.

Sometimes it sucks and you fight it because you will probably miss the innocence you believed you once carried.

It does not mean you cannot continue to be soft like you were, practice kindness and love, or that you need to be violent to protect from violence. You just need to recognize that you have learned something new and vital about this world.

It will not protect you and it will not save you.

Hold onto those people in your life that you love. Your parents, your siblings, your friends, your extended family, your coworkers – whomever. Tell them you love them. Tell them that you are there for them. Remind them that they are not alone, and remember, neither are you.
